- 2008 Annual Report: We have published our 2008 Annual Report. This report was compiled to meet the specific requirements of Sections 706, 411, and 529 of the Surface Mining Control and Reclamation Act of 1977 (Public Law 95-87).
The report describes the operations of the Office of Surface Mining Reclamation and Enforcement from October 1, 2007, through September 30, 2008 (Fiscal Year 2008). Some state program performance information contained herein was collected for the 12-month period of July 1, 2007, through June 30, 2008. In addition, data for the period from October 1, 2006, through September 30, 2007 (Fiscal Year 2007) is located in Appendix A. [more]

- Immediate Stream Protection Measures: OSM is initiating a rulemaking process to modify the 2008 stream buffer zone rule to be more protective of streams. We will implement measures to provide increased protection for streams until that rule is finalized. [more]
