                   OSM AWARDS MONTANA $895,318 TO ASSIST
               IN REGULATING SURFACE EFFECTS OF COAL MINING
                                     
The Interior Department s Office of Surface Mining Reclamation
and Enforcement (OSM) is providing Montana $895,318 to assist the
state in regulating the surface effects of coal mining.

The grant will assist in paying Montana s inspection and
enforcement costs including equipment, supplies, and transportation.
