                  OSM AWARDS HOPI TRIBE $167,460
                   REGULATORY DEVELOPMENT GRANT
     The Interior Department's Office of Surface Mining Reclamation and
Enforcement (OSM) is providing the Hopi tribe with a $167,460 grant to
assist in developing coal mining rules and regulations in support of a
permanent regulatory program for tribal lands in Arizona.  
     The grant evolved from the 1992 Energy Policy Act.
